We serve participants in Sacramento, Woodland, Davis, Rancho Cordova, and Roseville and are growing fast. Job Description

We thought the best way for you to understand what this job entails would be to paint a picture of what a day might look like: Each morning starts with a team meeting. On Monday and Friday it is a fun company wide meeting focused on team building, training, and resource development. On Tuesday and Thursday it’s your own team meetings focused on developing your people and your priorities. You’ll then have virtual 1:1 meetings with 2 clients at about 1 hour a piece centered around developing their employability skills (yep we managers work with clients too). Those are the consistent aspects of each day, but throughout the day you’ll generally do some of the following:

  • Participate in workshops and office hours

  • Hold 1:1’s with your staff

  • Lead a workshop group

  • Lead a group focused on resource development

  • Hold a breakout session to help troubleshoot an issue with your team

  • Support with someone struggling with a behavior

  • Host a virtual meet and greet for a potential client and their support staff

  • Interview a applicant for an employment counselor position

  • Meet with your manager or the management team

  • Talk with an employer

  • Handle administrative tasks (which we strive to keep at a minimum)

We have a highly collaborative environment with managers interacting with each other, their team, and Employment Counselors across the company everyday. We are looking for someone with excellent people skills who gets excited by our vision and the idea of managing a team.
As a Program Manager you will focus on a number of things but the core of your job will be to use your set of talents and skills in such a way that each person you manage can answer “strongly agrees,” to these 12 questions:

  • Do you know what is expected of you at work?

  • Do you have the materials and equipment to do your work right?

  • At work, do you have the opportunity to do what you do best every day?

  • In the last seven days, have you received recognition or praise for doing good work?

  • Does your supervisor, or someone at work, seem to care about you as a person?

  • At work, do your opinions seem to count?

  • Does the mission/purpose of your company make you feel your job is important?

  • Are your associates (fellow employees) committed to doing quality work?

  • Do you have a best friend at work?

  • In the last six months, has someone at work talked to you about your progress?

  • In the last year, have you had opportunities to learn and grow?

We are looking for someone who looks at this list and sees and understands it’s value. Someone who gets excited about the possibility of managing a great team and realizing the inherent value linked to each of these questions to make that happen.

  • 2 or more years management experience

  • A college degree

  • Clean driving record (no major violations)

  • Car Insurance

  • A reliable car

  • Experience in human services preferred

Covid-19 Considerations

This job is partially remote right now, with 1:1, socially distanced, masked, outdoor visits to our clients three days a week for 1 hour per client. We plan to scale up our in-person services in the coming months.
