Job Description
Each morning starts with a team meeting. On Monday and Friday, it is a fun company-wide meeting. On Tuesday and Thursday, you and your Program Manager will work together to lead your own team meetings focused on developing your people and your priorities. You’ll then have virtual 1:1 meetings with 2 clients at about 1 hour a piece, centered around developing their employability skills. In the afternoon, you will oversee or lead a game-based workshop. In between that, you might find yourself doing the following:

Supporting your team as they develop ideas, troubleshoot issues with clients, and build their skills.

Supporting the Program Manager with their daily responsibilities and filling in when the Program Manager is absent.

Planning, creating, and leading workshops and group activities.

Training and mentoring new Employment Counselors

Acting as a project manager overseeing and directing projects instrumental to Blue Heron’s success.

Encouraging and modeling a collaborative environment

A sprinkle of admin work and having fun!
Who We're Looking For
We have a highly collaborative environment with managers interacting with each other, their team, and Employment Counselors across the company everyday. We are looking for someone with excellent people skills and conscientious work style who gets excited by our vision and aspires to be a manager.

As an Assistant Program Manager, you will focus on a number of things but the core of your job will be to use your set of talents and skills to work with the Program Manager in obtaining “strongly agrees,” from your team to these 12 questions:

Experience in human services preferred

1 year of experience in Management

Bachelors of Arts Degree (required)

Covid-19 Considerations
This job is partially remote right now, with 1:1, socially distanced, masked, outdoor visits to our clients three days a week for 1 hour per client. We plan to scale up our in-person services in the coming months.
